We did it. again! Hallellujah! The concession season is closed for another year.
Long Live the Concession Stand.
This fall season has proven to be another great year for the Band Boosters in support of our Littlestown High School
and Maple Avenue Middle school football programs. The LHS Marching Band as well as all the music programs throughout
the LASD.
The concession stand is a monster at times to control and stay on top of. It brings a wide range of demands and
considerations to manage. Yet for the parents who were able to find time to work it and participate in it, a neat
social element of fun is quickly realized. Later, a sense of pride and stewardship is fostered along the way eitht the
knowledge that you are helping to make a difference. Special thank you to April Glaeser and Denise Troup who always
made sure it was stocked, open and ready for business for each game. We could not have done it without you. On
top of everything else going on this year, on Saturday October 4th we renewed our support for our Festival of Bands
Outdoor competition, by hosting a 2008 Cavalcade of Bands Competition at Littlestown Memorial Stadium. The concession
stand was a critical and vital part of making that night a huge sucess! We thank all the bands that visited
Littlestown and honored us with their talents that evening.
To the dozens and dozens and dozens of Littlestown parents that came together to make this fall season an outstanding
sucess. I tip my hat. Thank you. The service you provided and the time you donated are a rare and valued act of
kindness, And, year after year, it is why our organization is so successful.
There are all kinds of activities on the calender coming up in the very near future. We have championships occuring
on November 8Th in HersheyPA. On Friday November 14th, we are hosting a post-season party at the YMCA, and baked goods
are encouraged and welcome.
December 1st is our "Dinner Out" family night this at Issac's Restaurant and Deli. Our 2009 lottery tickets will
be on sale soon. On Jan. 10th we will be hosting our annual Shrimp and Chicken Feed at the Eagles' banquet hall, with
advance ticketing. And on February 14th we will be hosting our annual KIDA indoor Marching Band and Guard Competition
at the LHS High School. Last year we hosted 33 separate performing groups at this event. The planning for this
is just now starting
Wow! and this is a Band trip year!! Right now our kids are participating in sub and pizza sales to raise monies
for their spring band trip. So look for these fund raisers and lend your support to give them a hand.
Too much fun......
